​Who Can Play?
The Fall High School Golf League is open to high school boys looking for additional competitive golf opportunities during the fall season. Players register individually for the events they want to play.
​League Format
Players compete in 9-hole events each week. Players may register for the events that fit their schedule and do not need to participate in every tournament.

Boys High School Fall League

The Wisconsin Fall Boys High School Golf League gives golfers in grades 9–12 additional competitive tournament experience during the fall. Events are held weekly at courses throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
Our league involves weekly golf tournaments on local course throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
We use varsity-level tees, live scoring, and an emphasis on the Rules of Golf to prepare players for high school competition.
Season-long points standings add another level of competition, with awards presented at the end of the fall season.
School charge their own yearly fees and optional tournaments are $30 per 9-hole match.

Regular Season: 5 Weeks
Format: 9-Hole Individual & Team Competition
1. League OverviewThe Fall High School Boys Golf League gives high school golfers the opportunity to continue competing during the fall while preparing for the spring high school golf season.
Players compete in weekly 9-hole events at courses throughout the area. The league features both team and individual competition, live scoring, varsity-level tees, season-long standings, and postseason championships.
The league is independently operated and teams are not school-sponsored teams.
2. Eligibility
  • Open to boys in grades 9–12.
  • Players compete as individuals and as members of player-created teams.
  • Players do not need to be members of their school's varsity golf team to participate.
  • Players from different schools may compete together on the same team.
3. Team FormationOne of the goals of the Fall League is to allow players to build their own teams and compete alongside friends.
  • Teams consist of 5 players.
  • Players are encouraged to create their own teams and team names.
  • All 5 players may NOT attend the same school.
  • A team may include players from multiple schools.
  • Players who do not have a complete team may register individually or with a partial team and may be placed with other available players.
  • Teams may create their own team names.
  • Teams are not officially affiliated with or representing their high schools.
  • Each team will designate a Team Captain, who may be a parent or player.
Final rosters must be submitted before the start of league competition.
4. Regular Season FormatThe regular season consists of five Tuesday events.
Each week:
  • Players compete in 9 holes of stroke play.
  • Matches begin at approximately 3:45 PM.
  • Teams will be assigned to host courses throughout the area.
  • Approximately 3–5 teams will compete at each location.
  • Players will compete from varsity-appropriate tees.
  • USGA Rules of Golf, league rules, and applicable local course rules will govern play.
Every player's score also counts toward the individual competition.
5. Team ScoringEach team may have up to 5 players compete each week.
The lowest 4 scores from each team will count toward the team's total score.
Example:
Player 1 – 38
Player 2 – 40
Player 3 – 41
Player 4 – 43
Player 5 – 46
Team Score: 162
The 46 is dropped.
If only four players compete, all four scores count.
If fewer than four players compete, the team will not post a complete team score for that week's competition.
6. Team StandingsTeams earn points each week based on their finish at their assigned event:
1st Place – 10 points
2nd Place – 9 points
3rd Place – 8 points
4th Place – 7 points
5th Place – 6 points
Points accumulate throughout the five-week regular season.
Team TiebreakersFor a single weekly event, ties will be broken by:
  1. 5th player's score
  2. If still tied, scorecard playoff using the counting players' scores
  3. Last 6 holes
  4. Last 3 holes
  5. Final hole
If a team competes with only four players, it will not have a fifth-player score available for the first tiebreaker.
7. Individual CompetitionEvery player automatically competes in the individual season standings regardless of his team's performance.
Individual standings will be based on scoring average during the regular season.
To qualify for the Individual Championship, a player must compete in a minimum of 3 regular-season events.
If players finish the regular season with identical scoring averages, ties will be broken by:
  1. Lowest individual 9-hole score during the season
  2. Second-lowest individual score
  3. Head-to-head results, when applicable
  4. Additional tiebreaker determined by the League Director if necessary
8. Team ChampionshipFollowing the five-week regular season, the Top 4 teams in the season standings will advance to the Team Championship.
Championship Format
  • 18 holes of stroke play
  • Saturday championship event
  • 5 players per team
  • Lowest 4 scores count
  • Regular-season points determine qualification but do not carry over to the Championship
  • Lowest 18-hole team score wins the Fall High School League Team Championship
Championship ties will be broken using the fifth player's score, followed by a scorecard playoff if necessary.
9. Individual ChampionshipThe Top 8 individuals from the regular-season standings will qualify for the Individual Match Play Championship.
Players will be seeded according to their regular-season finish:
#1 vs. #8
#4 vs. #5
#2 vs. #7
#3 vs. #6
Winners advance through the bracket:
Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Championship
Matches will be played using 9-hole match play.
If a match is tied after nine holes, players will continue to a sudden-death playoff when course availability allows. The League Director may establish an alternate playoff procedure when additional holes are not available.
The winner of the final match will be crowned the Fall High School League Individual Champion.
10. Live ScoringLive scoring will be used for all league events through LiveTourney.com.
  • Players will receive the event scoring code prior to each tournament.
  • Players are responsible for accurately entering scores during the round.
  • Scores should be verified with playing partners before being submitted.
  • A player or Team Captain should confirm final scores with the Tournament Director at the conclusion of play.
  • Results and updated standings will be posted following each event.
11. Team CaptainsEach team will designate a Team Captain. The Team Captain may be a player or parent.
Team Captains will help:
  • Confirm weekly player availability.
  • Communicate league information to team members.
  • Notify the League Director of absences or roster issues.
  • Help ensure players arrive on time and are prepared to play.
  • Confirm team scores following competition.
Teams are not required to have a high school golf coach participate.
12. League AdministrationThe League Director will:
  • Create weekly course and team assignments.
  • Coordinate host locations.
  • Manage live scoring.
  • Track team and individual standings.
  • Communicate weekly schedules and results.
  • Administer league rules.
  • Coordinate the Team and Individual Championships.
The League Director will have final authority on league rules, scoring disputes, eligibility questions, weather decisions, and other circumstances not specifically addressed in this handbook.
13. Weather & CancellationsGolf will be played in normal fall weather conditions whenever the host course determines the course is playable.
In the event of severe weather, darkness, or course closure, the League Director may shorten, postpone, relocate, or cancel an event.
If an event is shortened, the League Director will determine whether enough holes were completed for the competition to count toward season standings.
14. Sportsmanship & Pace of PlayPlayers are expected to demonstrate the sportsmanship and etiquette expected in high school golf.
Players should:
  • Play without unnecessary delay.
  • Be ready when it is their turn.
  • Respect the golf course, fellow competitors, and host facility.
  • Follow all USGA, league, and local rules.
  • Verify scores before submission.
Repeated misconduct or serious rules violations may result in penalties or removal from league competition.
